Introduction

Sabudana is also known as Sabudana pearl. And Sabudasa is used to make vada, khichdi, kheer, and Thalipeeth, etc. Today we will make one Sabudana vada. We often eat Tikkis. The Tikkis are crispy and deep-fried and you will crave to eat them during the fast as this dish is so delicious and spicy. Which are very tasty to eat. So today we are making crispy and super delicious Sabudana vada. Sabudana and fried potato dumplings make a great meal during fasting which is more popular during Navratri and Janmashtami fasting.

We can make it for any fast that is crispy from outside, which prepared from Sabudana with boiled potatoes and coarse peanut, green chillis and Serve them with hot chutney. So that the fun of eating Sabudana vada doubled. Everyone will surely like this dish.

Step 1: Ingredients for making Sabudana vada

  • Medium size Sabudana pearls – 1 cup
  • 4 tbsp fasting flour
  • Potatoes – 5 (boiled and chopped)
  • Peanuts – ½ cup (roasted and chopped
  • Green coriander – 2 to 3 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Green chilly – 2 (chopped)
  • Fennel seed
  • Black pepper – 8 to 10 (coarsely ground)
  • Rock salt (according to taste)
  • Oil – to fry

Step 2: Preparation for Sabudana vada

  • Take 1 cup Sabudana pearls and soak them in 1 cup clean water for 2 hours.
  • After that Peel the potatoes and chop them finely with the help of a spoon.
  • Now take a mixing bowl and mix Sabudana pearls, mashed potatoes, rock salt, finely chopped green chilies, finely ground black pepper, finely chopped coriander and coarsely ground peanuts and mix well.
  • And now The mixture ready to make vada.

Step 3: Method for making Sabudana vada

  • Heat a little oil in a pan.
  • After that Roll, some of the mixtures into a round shape and you use a palm to flatten it.
  • Now repeat the process until the entire mixture is used.
  • Add vada in hot oil.
  • And fry them till they turn golden brown.
  • To remove excess oil, take out the fried Vadas on a plate covered with paper.
  • Now our dish ready.
  • Serve hot Sabudana vadas with green coriander chutney, sweet chutney or tomato chutney.
